Volunteer Opportunities at
The Stark County Pound

The Stark County Pound needs volunteers to walk the dogs. Those who volunteer to walk the dogs make it possible for them to have exercise and to be socialized. Children under 18 years of age who want to volunteer to walk the dogs, must be accompanied by a parent while walking the dogs.

Each new potential volunteer will meet with, Assistant Dog Warden Mike Evans. The meeting is on a walk-in basis on Tuesday through Saturday, within the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will take between 10 and 20 minutes and will include filling-out volunteer applications, meeting with Mike. Stark County Dog Warden, Reagan Tetreault will schedule your background check and fingerprinting. The background check and fingerprinting will cost you $22.00; after one month of service, Friends of the Pound will reimburse the background check and fingerprinting fee. If you have any questions or concerns about volunteering, the Dog Warden's contact information is posted HERE in the box below.

Friends of the Pound
An All Volunteer Organization

Stacy with MommaFriends of the Pound is an all volunteer, dynamic organization of those who have the desire to give homeless dogs the love, care, and dignity that they deserve while they are being held at the Stark County Dog Pound. Working in cooperation with the Stark County Dog Warden's staff our volunteers have the opportunity to significantly enhance the quality of life for the dogs and to increase their opportunities for placement through adoptions or rescue groups.

Friends of the Pound is encouraging motivated members of this community and beyondDelivering Kuranda Beds for Dogs to become part of our growing organization of volunteers who respond to the daily needs of the dogs at the Stark County Pound, while also performing fundraising, rescuing, and community outreach projects. We are dedicated to changing the life of one dog at a time until we reach our mission goal of every dog at the Pound being placed in its forever home.

Friends of the Pound understand the busy schedules of those who may want to volunteer. We encourage our members to give of their time on their own terms while they contribute to the projects that will make a positive and meaningful impact on the homeless dogs at the Stark County Pound.

Open House at the PoundWe have had the honor of witnessing the amazing outreach in this community for the homeless dogs at the Stark County Pound. We are continuously grateful and humbled by those who want to volunteer their time, talents, love, homes, and vehicles. We thank all of our volunteers and those in the community who have donated to our "Wish List" and contributed to our fundraising events.
