Bandit's Happy Tail ♥ He Stole Our Hearts
I thought that you might like to hear about our story on our little guy that we
adopted on Christmas Eve. I go on the Stark County dog warden website everyday
and the night before Christmas Eve I saw your top dog better known as cage 28.
There was something about him that I felt that I needed to get him out of the
pound.
I posted stuff on craigslist.com to try to get attention to him so he could
be adopted by a nice family. I just could not let him be put down. I knew that
his time was almost up. I could not sleep that night and I got up at 5:00 a.m.
looking at his picture again crying because I was so scared that he would be put
down!! I did not even know this dog I just saw his picture on your website. By 8:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve I had told my husband that we needed to get him and his
responds was are you crazy!! We already have 3 females and I thought for sure
that I would never have another one (never say never lol).
By 10:00 a.m. my husband went down and signed papers to adopt him. I still was not sure why I had to do
this. I thought for some reason either we needed him or someone in my family
needed him or even someone close to us. I did not know whom but I knew what I
needed to do and then I would figure the rest out after we got him home!! The
pound let us bring him home since it was Christmas and a long weekend so we went
down and got him and that is when I saw him for the first time. He was so
scared!! He was also Very skinny and just wanted to be loved by someone. He went everywhere
with us for Christmas, but still very scared of everyone and everything!!
We had to take him back down to the pound on that Monday so he could get fixed so my
husband followed the van down and took him his self because we made a promise to
him that he would never see the inside of the pound again.
We found out that he had two types of worms and they were pretty bad. He was under
weight you could feel his ribs and hip bones!! He was a sick little guy.
Sicker than people thought!!
When I took him outside the Saturday after Christmas my
neighbor's kids were over and they saw him and said he was their aunt's dog
that ran away a month ago. I did not believe him but it turns out to be true, it
is their dog. Now I was really confused. I was not for sure if this was why I
felt so strong about getting him out of the pound. After I talked to them about
him and found out about how he was treated and why they did not look for him
I knew in my heart that there was no way I could give them him back. I see
why he ran away I would have done the same!!!! After hearing about all of what
this dog has been through I knew that I could not trust anyone but
myself to give him a good home!!
We now call him "Bandit" (because
he stole our hearts). He is a happy and healthy little boy now and he
thanks me every day for saving his life!!! The picture above is Bandit (cage 28)
with his best friend our German Shepherd Shawtzie.
